The Capital District UMC is proud to announce we have set up the Stewards of Children Online Training for all churches within our district-and any district who may be interested in this program.
This counts as one part of *Safe Sanctuaries trainings, the other part is training on your local church policy. Child abuse prevention and awareness training is required annually for those working with children or youth by our Rio Texas Conference.
Once a user has taken either the $10 online or free in-person Stewards of Children program, the user has access to  5 more online trainings for only $5 per course (that can potentially be used for the next 5 years of required trainings):
  • Talking with Children about Safety from Sexual Abuse
  • Bystanders Protecting Children From Boundary Violations and Sexual Abuse
  • Healthy Touch for Children and Youth
  • Child Sexual Abuse and the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children
  • Recognizing and Responding to Abuse and Neglect
The Stewards of Children training is  at the following link: SOC Training
Directions for the training here.   (When registering your physical address, click on the light gray state title in the drop down menu to continue. )
Stewards of Children Online training is $10 per user and the additional trainings are $5 and is billed after training is completed to your local church directly from the Capital District office, if you need scholarships for trainings, please let us know. You will receive a list of users who have completed the trainings through your church log in when you are billed.
I hope you are as impressed with the program as I have been.
